Slab Work

The samples shown here uses the slab work Technique to form. Again using your imagination, you can use this technique to form almost anything you desire.

Coils

In this technique, the use of coils in layers help to form the walls of the pot. the wider and taller u go the bigger the pot.........

To decorate, you can add interesting 3D sprigs of any genre on to the surface of the coiled vessel.

Solids

Giving life to a solid block of clay is the task of this technique.

First, knock a solid block of clay to a shape you desire and then leave it to stand and dry out a little.

When the 'skin' seems leather hard, it time to dig!

Use a trimming ribbon to aid you with this. While you are 'digging' you have to be mindful that you do not dig too deep or too much. You must always try and maintain an even profile throughout your form.

Pinching

As the title Implies, it's the combine action of your fore-finger and thumb, shaping a solid ball of clay into a hollow form or a vessel form.

It is then up to your own interpretation of the pinched vessel and change it to whatever you want it to be.

A shown example here is a Fish sculpture.
